So I (Sammi) went exploring in the clearing behind our house. Since it’s spring all the plants are blooming and seeding. Here are some of the pictures I took:
I think these may be milkweed, but I am not sure even if they are not, they are still beautiful.
These beautiful daisies came in both white and pink.
(on the left) It is hard to see in the picture, but I think this is a berry bush. I’m hoping they are of the edible variety.
(in the middle) I think these might be honeysuckle.
(on the right) beautiful flowers, but I have no idea what they are.
I found the most beautiful little clearing in the forest patch by the road. I can just see a tiny wattle and daub hut here.
Here’s a video of the creation of a wattle and daub hut. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCKkHqlx9dE
Some more beautiful greenery, once the cattails mature at bit more I might try my hand at basket weaving.
I love the idea of living off the land, and have done extensive research on the topic, so once the wild grasses began to seed I was out there to see if they were ripe for harvest! (they weren't) I want to make wild seed bread like this guy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvJRXusncRY
And finally, here is the result of my adventure… a beautiful Mother’s Day bouquet! and a lot of allergies. :p
