We have been having those lately – oh well.
Last Sunday we took Bella to the ER – they told us her cast was contaminated and to go to the doctor the next day. Monday we went to the doctor. They were not happy with the ER. That cast came off and we headed downtown. Her incision had dehissed – completely opened up – and it was very, very infected. It’s open all the way down to the bone. She had emergency surgery for irrigation and debridement. We don’t know what this means for her knee. We will just have to wait and see. Infectious disease is now involved with our care. They are treating her as if she had a bone infection. We move forward.I did a lot of quick talking and got us home for the holiday and birthdays!
Wednesday was Sammi’s 17th birthday!! I am so grateful for Sammi! She helps me keep life going for all of us. She can run this household almost as well as I can! We love you Sammi and your sweet and gentle heart. Sam had a friend over. We had sushi for her birthday dinner.
A little while ago, one of the kids had a growth removed. We got the call on Wednesday - basal cell cancer. Grateful it’s basal cell. Wish it wasn’t cancer. Not willing to share which kid yet. Gotta do more tests and see how involved this is. Sigh! Hoping and praying…
Thursday was Thanksgiving! We feasted – we had leftovers – we were thankful! I was grateful to have everyone here, all my babies under one roof. Games were played. Bella rested upstairs. Christmas decorations came out (Joy LOVED that part!)
Friday was Alex’s birthday. Four years old – how is that possible? We love you sweet boy! We are so glad you are in our family! We love our noisy little boy!
We took Alex and Becca out for their birthday lunches together!
Friday night Becca Lynn went to the temple to receive her endowments – truly a special night for her Dad and I to be in the temple with our baby! It was wonderful! She was beautiful and just glowed!
Saturday we got to see our old PT from Houston. She was driving through, so we meet up for breakfast. So nice to see her and her family!
It’s been a big week – full of highs and lows – tis life. “And thus it is. Amen.”
