We have been passing it around – so fun. We share everything. We are just kind like that!
Lots of crying, lots of holding, lots of breathing treatments.
We have been working on eating with Brother (when he wasn’t screaming). He prefers vegetables over fruit and loves rice!
Lizzy and I went to her Activity Day’s Standards Night. They made a really cute find it pillow to remember their standards (you know the thing with little toys and filled with rice). It was so cute! Have I mentioned how much Bella adores her brother?
For Becca’s Latin Project this year (last year it was the amazing quilt), she and some friends put on the Latin Banquet – buying the food, preparing the food, getting everything ready, planning the games, pretty much everything. When things went wrong, as they will, she stepped up, took charge, and fixed it (can we say oldest and bossy?). Watch out ISU, Becca is coming and she’s awesome!
Her Latin teachers
Wednesday no one could muster the strength to cook – thank goodness for Domino’s! And Sammi got to have her BBQ chicken pizza. She loves those! Joy loves pizza period!
This week’s science experiments about the digestive system: the enzyme amylase at work on her cracker, how chyme moves through the small intestine, how way the stomach churns our food, how bile helps break down fats. Love teaching you Liz!
A cool picture of a worm that Lizzy found! This second picture is blurry, which kills me, but it’s a hummingbird! A teeny, tiny hummingbird slipping nectar from a lantana. (left, lower quadrant)At first I thought it was a wasp or something, but no, a tiny hummingbird! So Cool! Isn’t life like that? At first things may seem bad, but are actually blessings and beautiful!
Some successful therapies – a lot of them were cancelled this week!
Big things in Bella’s life – I decided it was time she switched to a normal pediatrician. yeah! No more all day adventures just to see her regular doctor. So proud of you Bella! She thinks you are a miracle too! Labs on Friday. This sweet lady has been drawing Bella’s blood for a long, long time. She couldn’t believe it when we walked in just holding her - no tubes, no wires, no vent, no nothing! It’s a miracle, she said. Yeah – loving this much easier way of living!
Thanksgiving feasts at Horizons and the home school group
Sammi helping Bella to do a matching game. Bella helping me with Alex (my 4 year old holding my almost 1 year old).

Friday night, 5:30. We are home from piano and everywhere else we needed to be. Lizzy had a ride to her tween home school activity. Jason walked in the door. So after being sick super mom all week, I took Nyquil and checked out from reality. My poor body was so grateful! BUT…ugh…Jessi had forgotten that she had a 3 hour region rehearsal that night. In my drugged state, I overhear a conversation between an upset Orchestra Director and my very apologetic husband. If Jessi wasn’t at practice in 30 minutes (with her harp), then she would be kicked out of Region for the remainder of the year and next year! Ouch! Let’s just say she made it from Tomball all the way down to Klein Forest HS somehow. I wasn’t involved obviously, but she made it. The poor kid is just like her Mama! If her head wasn't attached, she would forget it! Gotta teach her about Google calendars!
Saturday – We donated Bella’s chair, stander, tomato chair and boxes of medical supplies. Huge on so many levels!
Kris showed up at o’dark hundred and helped Becca do her hair and makeup. Aunt Marissa and Becca went out to take Bec’s Senior Pictures. I can’t wait to see them!
And then Jessi. When the region people released the kids at 9PM, they told them to wear their school uniforms to the concert the next day. OK. Problem. 7th and 8th Graders have uniforms. Not 6th Graders. So she had to wear black slacks and a white shirt. Guess who didn’t have any black slacks, white shirt, or black flats? Guess where Jessi and I were at 7AM? So grateful WalMart is open 24 hours a day!
Jason teaching Liz to blow Becca took Joy to dance downtown
Grocery shopping – a Saturday tradition – now with Bella!
Jessi’s Region Concert. The kids were awesome! These are Junior High kids! Amazing!
Lizzy now wants to play percussion after listening to these songs!
Grandma and Grandpa Turpin are in town! They stopped by on Saturday night. We love seeing them!
