Since Jason and I were away, Becca took Joy to Ballet – all the way downtown. She did it and celebrated with Sonic!
Evidently, this was Kris's first time to grill something! Looks like fun!
General Conference Bingo
Becca’s life has the added complexity of living gluten free, but having Kris, another GF free lady, around makes it more fun. They can eat and experiment together!
Sweet Joy and her puppy
Meringue tarts with whipped cream and cut up fruit – looks awesome!
Soccer practice – Linda took Liz to her game on the 6th and then Grandma, Mandy, Linda, and Ronnie went to her game on the 13th. Jason and I will finally get to see her in action this coming week!
Evidently the flies got bad in the house. So Kris got some fly tape – she was delighted when the first fly landed never to venture out again!
Jessi’s homework folder has died. So before Becca, who had my debit card while we were away, could pick her up a nice new plastic (much more long lasting) folder, Kris made her a construction paper folder. They were very proud of it!
Coloring pictures!
My Joy – she would live on bread and apples if I let her! Hanging out together!
Howdy there world!
Friday Becca and Jessi brought home their report cards. Becca has all A’s, except an 89 in PreCal. Jessi had 2 B’s and the rest A’s. She seems to be finding her groove in Middle School. Congratulations girls.
Saturday Jessi tried out for region Orchestra – and she made it! We are all so excited for her! As a 6th Grader in Region – awesome! I was worried that she would be nervous. When I asked her how she felt about the whole thing, she said, “Region is awesome!” Wonderful! Now she has to learn new music for the concert! Way to go Jessi!
Becca texted us so very excitedly this week! She belongs to a club called TFME (Texas Future Music Educators). They had a lady come speak to them on Wednesday who used to be a professor at Sam Houston State University. After the meeting, Miss Reeves, who Becca volunteers for five days a week made her go up and talk to this lady. She explained all of the great things that Becca is doing in her volunteer time. Basically, she is doing all the work that a student teacher would do. The lady was so impressed! She told Becca that she was going to talk to some people on campus. Basically she told Bec she could walk into SHSU with a full ride scholarship. Becca was on cloud nine!
It’s a busy time in the orchestra world – Fifth Grade Strings is starting. Bec is working at two different schools this year. So four days a week she is teaching little 5th graders the beginnings of orchestra. She has inspected all of their instruments and taped them. She and the director had to lug them all to the schools to give them to the students. (2nd picture)
She loves this world!
This is such a crazy phase of life that Becca is in. She is applying to colleges. She is learning about new programs. She is looking at scholarships. She is making such a huge decision – where to spend the next four years of her life. And one of her chief concerns about where to go to school is her Didi. How she loves him! She is so afraid of missing him, of missing out on his life. He’ll be almost two when she leaves and at least six when she is done. I listen to all of her excitements and concerns, and give my input now and then, but really it all comes down to prayer. She has to apply to all of these schools and see what her options are. Then through prayer, I know she’ll be lead to the right place for her.
