Becca flew out on July 26th for Grandma and Grandpa’s. Aunt Angie, Jordan, and Trevor were there visiting. They made chocolate s’mores ( graham crackers, chocolate marshmallows, and chocolate) while they were all together.
Driving from Chicago to Iowa: (it’s a boring drive!)
The High Priest Group Leader’s daughter in the Turpin’s ward befriended Becca. They meet up before the conference. They went shopping and decided to try fake nails (being a Violist, she has to have short nails). They lasted about three hours before she got sick of them, but they had fun together.
As it worked out, Grandma and Grandpa’s Stake’s Youth Conference was during her trip – and she got to go!
They loaded up into chartered buses and drove to the church history sites in Missouri: Adam-ondi-ahmen, Liberty Jail, Independence. Then they went to a dance in Kansas and then stayed the night in the Kansas City, MO. They headed to Omaha (Far West). They went to the temple/visitor’s center there and then headed over to Council Bluffs. There they attended “Welcome to Kanesville” (a play) and then there was another dance. They stayed the night in Council Bluffs. For their service project, they filled sand bags for the Red Cross (remember the Missouri was flooding?) Then they drove home to Iowa.

Mormon Trail sign, more corn
Windmills, and more windmills, and more windmills
Becca got back from Youth Conference at 9PM on Saturday. She had Sunday to rest up and then they headed down to Nauvoo for EFY!
