Sleepovers – upstairs and down
Reading:
Playing:
Music: We picked up Lizzy’s violin. Becca is giving her lessons.
Jessi got to have her first Cello lesson.
Becca had Region Orchestra Camp Monday to Thursday. When she wasn’t there, she was on Facebook pretty much all of the time.
Cooking: We made candy sushi! Very fun!
and Strawberry/Blueberry Freezer Jam:
Becca finished up the name tags (all 225 of them) for Girl’s Camp. On Friday she got to go with a friend to Splashtown.
Prepped for Girl’s Camp: We got snacks, almost a complete wardrobe for Sammi, and matching new swimsuits for Becca and Sammi. I was hyperventilating as we left Target – that is more money than I like to spend! We also did a lot of emotional prep for Sam – so hoping and praying that she has a good camp experience. Our Stake YW Pres and Stake Camp Director have been so helpful getting her ready. I am grateful for their help.
Hanging out at the park and going to the library
Being sick: we took turns looking like this:
Both of our cars were in the shop this week. Thankfully, they took turns! On Friday driving down town to the hospital, my van’s temperature gauge kept shooting up to the terrible danger zone whenever we weren’t moving (like sitting in traffic waiting and waiting). I prayed so hard. If we had broken down, I would have had to call 911. So grateful that didn’t happen! Well, the radiator had to be replaced. Fortunately, it was under warranty! Jason’s car decided it needed to have problems with the water pump and pulley that powers the alternator. Fortunately some of that was also under warranty. They are both home again and working – thankful for that!
It has been hot here – very hot, but not humid. This is not normal Houston weather. We have been thrilled with the lower humidity. It’s not as hard to breathe and doesn’t feel as oppressive outside. But it’s been interesting – Jason and my temperature challenged girls have been doing well, but Bella can’t get off the vent – it’s too dry. Jason usually can’t do the yard in this kind of heat, but without the humidity, he’s outside working right beside me. Interesting to me how something like the level of water in the air can effect so much!
