I think I’ll just hit the highlights
Monday – Mandy fell and broke her left femur. Poor thing. We meet them up at Tomball Hospital ER and grabbed Nathan. He stayed the night with us till Daddy got back into town the next day. For FHE we read about the Savior and the Atonement.
Tuesday – homeschooling with Nathan here. The girls playing in the water.
Wednesday – PT – Me showing Bella how to kick. Joy coming home from preschool with all of her Easter fun. We decided to have our house painted. They started by power washing the whole thing. This brought us a little visitor inside. Lizzy loved it! Sammi was surprised by being kidnapped for Young Women. She left giggling! I loved seeing her so happy!
Thursday – Jessi had three brackets popped off, which means we got to skip school, fix her braces and have lunch together! Sammi had her last art club meeting. It was the first meeting that Joy and I were able to stay for.Sammi tie dyed a shirt she is going to give to Jessi. The house prep continued. Youth Conference started for Becca.
Friday – Jason had the day off. We went and explored the big town of Montgomery. We enjoyed the parks. We had lunch where we discovered that only half of our family likes fried pickles. We drove over and visited Mandy.
When we got home the girls played outside in the water. Becca got home late that night. We missed her on our Good Friday adventure.
Saturday – Again our Becca was gone all day. The girls played and the house further got prepped for paint. So glad that we aren’t doing this ourselves – we would never have done the extensive repair/prep job!
Bella, Jason and I headed to the ER.
Linda came over and stayed with the kids. She helped the kids dye Easter Eggs and hung around until Becca got home from Youth Conference and everyone was in bed. So grateful for that!
Sunday – Easter morning without Bella and Mama – I was grateful I had gotten everything beforehand. This year as I have prepared I have been thinking about a memory. We were living in Balikpapan – so I was in 4th or 5th grade. Easter was approaching and we were out running errands. My mother found a candy store in Muslim Indonesia and had them make us chocolate bunnies. It was all a big secret from what I remember, but now when I remember I think of all the time and effort my Mom put into that. And I am grateful. I am grateful that being a Mother comes naturally to me. I have a good example to learn from.
Some cute kids and candy
My sweet girls headed to church.
Jason made a big Easter Egg hunt for the girls after they got home from church.
Everyone came up to visit us in the evening and left crying.
This hospital trip was rough on me. I have been going through another adjustment period. We adore Bella. I love that little girl with a love so fierce it hurts. I would do anything for her. But in my heart of hearts I really thought she would be better or dead by now. That may sound harsh, but it’s reality. She has been trached for two years now. Two years. My kids – the other five that live with my beautiful Bella and our ICU existence – I worry about them. I pray for them. I pray that I will have the strength and capacity to meet the needs of all six of my babies. All six. We are where we are. It is what it is. We can’t go anywhere. There is so much we can’t do. But I try so hard to make what we can do is enough. I just pray that I can do what I need to do for all of them. All of them. I hope it will be enough.
