The girls went to school. We got back into our before school scripture reading routine. This year to go along with Seminary we are reading the Doctrine and Covenants. Kris left us on Thursday :(. So we had Chinese food and chocolate cake! Good luck with everything Kris!
While she was here, we worked hard on painting the kitchen. We learned the difference between latex and oil based paints the hard way.
Bella is FINALLY over the flu. The docs said it would be about 6 weeks before her lungs recovered. And they were right. We are starting to do 1 hour off twice a day – and she is LOVING it!! We try to optimize her off vent time. On Wednesday she started having some green secretions so she is back on antibiotics – here’s hoping that doesn’t become anything. We are loving having her off and to ourselves!
Sammi is home schooling this year, so you’ll see lots of fun pictures of her. We are learning about explorers right now. This week we studied about the different reasons for exploration and then life as a sailor. She learned about famous nautical knots and we dried some apples. In literature she is reading Carry On, Mr. Bowditch which is full of sailing references – great story. In Botany we talked about taxonomy – so her shoe sorting became our visual aid there. School for her is off to a great start!
Joy got to go to Meet the Teacher at her school. That starts this coming Wednesday! Can’t believe that!

This is the girls on Friday after the first week of school. Sammi had a good week. Everyone else was really tired. Only 172 more school days to go till summer break :)
Think I am biased towards home schooling? Then you would be right!
