We’ll start with cute Bella:
Monday brought my failed attempts to get a new driver’s license. Jason and I were able to close all of our accounts and open new ones. That afternoon I went to Joy’s ARD. She will be receiving no services from the school district this coming year. Tuesday Sammi had activity days and then that night we took the kids to KSBJ’s free concert. Kari Jobe, one of our favorite Christian artists was singing. We joined the HUGE crowd and ate Chick-fil-A. We enjoyed the concert and I was glad that the kids got to see how others worship. It’s different from us. We are more subdued and reverent in our worship, but I loved seeing all of those people who would make time on a Tuesday night to come and worship.
Wednesday was Jessi’s activity days, piano for Lizzy, two doctor’s appointments for Bella and then that evening the 8th Grade Awards Ceremony. Becca received two awards. One for getting straight A’s and for the other, she was nominated as one of the Outstanding Eight Grade Students. I was very pleased that her teachers would acknowledge her hard work.
Thursday Bella had another doctor’s appointment down town. Joy graduated from ECI :(, I did my visiting teaching (swimming with April :) ), and Jason and I were able to go to the temple. I also made roasted corn, which was so yummy and much cheaper than at Splashtown! At the girl’s elementary school, two students from each class are awarded “Paws of Kindness.” Both Jessi and Lizzy received this award.
Friday Bella had another appointment downtown. My Mom was able to go to the temple and we watched Mandy and Nathan. Jason and Sammi were able to go to the movies together for their Daddy Daughter Date. Saturday morning found Becca and I bright and early in the temple doing baptisms for the dead. It was our Stake’s assignment this week at the temple.
Saturday, after our chores were done, we headed to the farm.….and we took Bella!
We had a wonderful time. We discovered. We harvested. We played.
The girls are totally obsessed with Harry Potter right now. Three of them are reading or re-reading the books and all games revolve right now around the wizarding world.
On Sunday, we had another first. We took Bella to church for the first time! How incredible. The first time since the beginning of Jan 2009 that our family has attended church together. We also took our 8 cups of dewberries and made a very yummy cobbler.
Monday was Memorial Day. We talked with the girls about our freedoms and those we honor this day. But we spent the day at the farm and celebrating Joy’s third birthday. Happy birthday little one!
