Moving in - howdy tall girl!
Monday night, we had a big Family Home Evening. Cyndi and Jeremy were in charge. It was so much fun! We had a talent show - which was so much fun! Each family had to present a skit or talent.
This is Mama telling us about family history "stuff" and Nauvoo "stuff" - very good stuff!
For our skit, we did a song set to the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies." We wanted to do ours on Family History. So we chose how my family came to be LDS. Enjoy!
Come listen to a story about Glenn and Deb
A cute little couple with kids blonde and red,
Then one day the Elders came a knockin’,
They repented real quick and got baptized straight away.
Mormon that is, Joe Smith, gold Bible.
Well the first thing you know ol Glenn's a seventy,
Ward folk said "There’s more for you to be"
They said "the temple is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up their car and went to S L C.
Utah, that is. Shining spires, beautiful covenants.
Well next thing you know that family is growin’
They add a couple kids and they keep on goin’.
They all serve faithfully in their callings
So they can be a forever family.
Eternal, that is. Celestial kingdom, Eternal life.
Y'all be faithful, y'hear?.
(sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillbies)
After all the talents (yeah us!), Cyndi and Jeremy had us sing a crazy and fun song about food - it was great! They changed the words from "It's a Big, Wide World." Then we played Fruit Basket. That was very loud!
We followed this with our devotional (Becca prepared the devotionals for the week for a Personal Progress goal) and then birthday cake - we have two birthdays in July: Michael and Catherine.
Of course, we also got our t-shirts and cookbooks. Yeah for the reunion!
